AnyVoice turns Dutch text to speech in seconds — free, no account, nothing stored. Paste your text with its ij's and accents, pick a male or female Dutch voice, and download the MP3. It reads text aloud; it does not transcribe audio.
Every voice here speaks Netherlands Dutch, so the real choice is register and job: a u script for customers wants a different voice than a je script for a vlog.
The free voices run on the engine at the top of this page. Studio voices add emotion and stability controls. Tap play for a sample, or tap a free voice to load it into the generator.
Two clear Netherlands-Dutch voices — one female, one male — you can use right now without an account.
Calm, measured voices that keep long compound words readable across a chapter or a whole course module.
Natural, friendly voices for shorts, podcasts and je-form scripts that should sound like a colleague talking.
The studio adds 7 premium Dutch voices for narration, teaching and conversation. Open the premium Dutch voices
Use this voiceNo installs, no account. Diphthongs, diaereses and the odd English loanword all go in the same box.
Drop your script into the editor at the top of the page. Keep ij as ij (and IJ at the start of a word), keep é, ë and ï where they belong, and end sentences with a full stop — the voice pauses on punctuation, not on line breaks.
The accent is the meaning: één is the number one, een is just “a”. The same goes for the diaeresis in coöperatie and the é in café — paste the accented forms when you have them.
Open the voice picker and choose by job: narration, teaching or conversation. A formal u script sits best on a narration voice; a je script belongs on a conversational one.
Dutch narration is comfortable at 1.0×. Push ads and shorts to 1.05×, and drop to 0.75–0.8× for learners who want to hear every diphthong and every back-to-front number.
Press Generate, play the result, and hit download. The file lives only in your browser — nothing is uploaded to our servers.

About 24 million people speak Dutch natively — some 17 million in the Netherlands, 6.5 million in Belgium and 400,000 in Suriname, according to the Taalunie. That makes it the eighth most spoken native language in the EU.
Dutch text to speech starts from one spelling shared by all of them. The regions differ in two consonants, a melody and a few words, and the voices on this page speak the Netherlands standard.
Broadcast Dutch from the Randstad is what the news, audiobooks and most business audio use. Its g scrapes at the back of the throat, its r often turns English-like at the end of a word, and it says je to almost everyone. The voices here speak it.
Belgium's Dutch keeps the g soft, rolls the r, runs a flatter melody and keeps a few words of its own: appelsien for orange, goesting for appetite, plezant for fun. Write them and the voice reads them — but the g stays Netherlands-hard, so for a Flemish audience the register matters more than the vowels.
Suriname, Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten use Dutch officially, with a Flemish-like sound and local loanwords, and read standard Dutch without effort. Afrikaans is a separate language that grew out of Dutch — a Dutch voice will not read it properly.
„Kun je me helpen?“ and „Kunt u mij helpen?“ ask the same thing at different distances, and Flanders adds ge and gij in casual speech. The voice reads whichever you wrote, so pair u with narration voices and je with conversational ones.
| Scenario | Register | Voice type | Try |
|---|---|---|---|
| Phone menus, announcements | u, formal | Narration | Ralph, Rhiannon |
| Courses, study notes, NT2 practice | u, slower | Narration | Rosalie, Maarten |
| Shorts, vlogs, podcasts | je, casual | Conversational | Colette, Raymond |
| Product tours for Flanders | u, polite | Narration | Rhiannon, Ralph |
A voice reads what you wrote, not what you meant — and Dutch hides its vowels in pairs and its numbers back to front. Before you run Dutch text to speech on a script, check these five things.
huis · neus · ijs · IJmuiden/œy/ · /øː/ · /ɛi/ · IJ as one letterDutch vowels come in pairs that are one sound: ui, eu, ij, ou. The ij counts as a single letter and is capitalised as IJ at the start of a word — write IJsselmeer, not Ijsselmeer, and the voice reads it as one.
goed · Groningen · maarhard g /x/ · hard g · Randstad rThe Netherlands g is a scrape at the back of the throat; Flanders makes it soft. The voices here use the hard g and the Randstad r, which is the sound of Dutch broadcasting and the one every Dutch listener understands instantly.
21 · € 1.234,56eenentwintig · duizend tweehonderdvierendertig euro zesenvijftigDutch says the ones before the tens — 21 is one-and-twenty — and writes a point for thousands and a comma for decimals. Type the amount the Dutch way, with the euro sign, and the voice reads it the Dutch way.
1 mei · 25-08-2026 · dhr. · ziektekostenverzekeringéén mei · vijfentwintig augustus · de heer · one long wordDates are plain numbers — 1 mei is één mei, never an ordinal — and numeric dates put the day first. Common titles expand (dhr., mevr.), and long compounds stay one word; add a hyphen only where Dutch spelling does, as in auto-ongeluk.
downloaden · gedownload · meeting[Dutch vowels, Dutch endings]Dutch borrows English words and conjugates them — downloaden, gedownload, geüpdatet — and the voice reads them with Dutch vowels and endings, which is how they sound in Utrecht or Antwerp. For a full English sentence, generate it separately with an English voice.
Keep ij and every accent, write amounts with the euro sign in Dutch format, leave compounds unbroken, match je or u to the voice, and end each sentence with a full stop. Five habits, and most misreadings disappear.
Four jobs people bring to this page every day.
Dutch consumers spent €36 billion online in 2024, and YouTube's creator economy added more than €7 billion to EU GDP the same year. Voice a script once, drop the MP3 into CapCut or any editor, and keep the register polite for Flanders.
More than half of Dutch adults listen to podcasts and a third listen every week (Markteffect 2025); audiobook listening has climbed from 9% to 26% of readers since 2016. Use a narration voice at 1.0× and generate chapter by chapter.
Paste an exam-style passage, slow it to 0.75×, and read along — diphthongs, the hard g and back-to-front numbers included. Dictate prices and dates to yourself until eenentwintig stops sounding backwards.
The European Accessibility Act has applied to consumer services in the Netherlands and Belgium since 28 June 2025, on top of the Dutch public-sector rules from 2018. Audio versions of notices, menus and articles are an easy first step.
